Jonathan Rhodes Kindergarten

1926 North East Valley Kindergarten opened in Millar St Hall and then moved to the Bowling Green Pavilion.  It closed in 1931 due to the depression and reopened in 1937.  It moved into own building in 1953 as Jonathan Rhodes Kindergarten. 

We have now moved into our new kindergarten.  Come and visit us and if you're not a kindy kid enrol for 2012.  Thank you to all our families and community for your ongong support through the building redevelopment!  Thank you also to North East Valley School for accomodating us so willingly in our temporary premises while the new kindergarten was being built. 

Our kindergarten is situated in the heart of North East Valley where education is valued and supported within the community. We provide a well resourced environment that is responsive to children’s learning pathways and encourages children to be responsible for leading their own learning.  ICT is an integral part of our programme where we value both team teaching and the environment as another teacher.

We capture movies of children at play and value using these as an assessment tool for learning.  We also believe having fun is the cornerstone to building on prior learning and developing strategies to become a lifelong learner.
