Thank you to the children, families, teachers, Stewarts Construction, Cooke Howlison and Ribbonwood Nurseries who supported this event.

Dunedin Kindergartens across Dunedin celebrated Matariki with a full programme during the months of June/July. The appearance of Puaka and the rising of Matariki heralded the Mãori New Year
To support their education programme 6 of our Kindergartens hosted Kat Anna Fiddle who entertained and educated children and their whanau with stories about Matariki using puppets, music, and especially FUN!

This was held in May at the Edgar Centre. This year we were especially celebrating 100% trained teachers.
The focus of the day was Active Movement – Active Children. A giant challenge course was set up and we had music and dancing sessions with the Kindergarten Bears. We also had Otago gymnastics, KatAnna Fiddle entertainers and our special guest the gruffalo came to read to children.
Each Kindergarten Committee fundraised with a range of stalls: bouncy castles, pop corn, sausage sizzles, drinks.
Many thanks to everyone who helped this day to be so successful.
